Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to add to our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, with the ability to assist in various aspects of patient care. This role involves working closely with dentists and hygienists, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the clinic while providing exceptional care to our patients. Minimum 2 years clinical experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and work areas in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments and coordinating with the dental receptionist.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient management and documentation.
- Assist with prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures as needed.
Skills
- Proficient in EMR systems, including and Dentrix.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
- Experience with chairside assisting techniques and medical imaging processes.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform vital sign assessments and maintain accurate medical records.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and general dental assisting protocols.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
