Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures.
• Assist dentists during a variety of treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment while adhering to strict infection control protocols.
• Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Support patient comfort by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology, and assisting with anesthesia as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure safety for patients and staff.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to document treatments accurately and efficiently.

Skills

• Proficiency with software systems such as Open dental, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient information.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document procedures.
• Experience with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and infection control practices.
• Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools confidently.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to effectively assist in treating young patients with patience and care.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with the dental team as a dental receptionist when necessary and explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages. Pay: $14.00 - $22.00 per hour
