Dental Assistant

Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures.
  • Assist dentists chairside during various treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
  • Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) system Eaglesoft ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or special care.
  • Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and managing medical records efficiently.
  • Follow aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment for patients and staff.
  • Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical coding, insurance processing, and updating medical documentation.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing dental terminology.
  • Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft; familiarity with medical coding and records management.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry and medical terminology for accurate documentation.
  • Ability to perform vital signs measurement and operate advanced dental imaging equipment like 3D scanners.
  • Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with familiarity with general dentistry procedures including prosthodontics and endodontics.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
