Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments with precision and care.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed to maintain infection control standards.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and X-ray machines while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
  • Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, dental terminology, and treatment plans.
  • Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and managing medical documentation and records with attention to detail.
  • Measure vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse to monitor patient health before procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection control protocols and proper aseptic techniques.
  • Collaborate seamlessly in four-handed dentistry setups to enhance efficiency during chairside assisting.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to foster understanding and comfort.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for managing patient data effectively.
  • Familiarity with medical coding, medical terminology, and electronic health record systems like Epic enhances your ability to document accurately.
  • Hands-on experience with dental X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and sterilization procedures is crucial for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
  • Strong understanding of dental assisting responsibilities across various specialties such as endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry.
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
