Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing advanced dental technology and fostering patient care excellence. Experience with Dentrix, is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and pediatric dentistry. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive dental services across general dentistry,, endodontics, and other specialties.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners.
- Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records Dentrix
- Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Provide chairside assistance .
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices.
- Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure all dental tools are properly cleaned and stored.
- Assist with administrative duties such as answering the phone as a dental receptionist when needed and managing medical documentation.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Dentrix is advantageous..
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures, medical imaging technologies like 3D scanners, and vital signs monitoring is desirable.
- Certification in dental assisting or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided for qualified candidates eager to expand their skills in dental assisting roles.
