We are looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team! We are a private practice located in St. Clair Shores, Mi.
Schedule:
- Monday–11:30am-7pm,Tuesday- 6:30am-1pm,Wednesday 7:30am-3pm, Thursday 7:30am-2pm, 1 Saturday a month 8:30am-2pm
Qualifications:
- Prior dental assisting experience
- Knowledge of Eaglesoft and iTero preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient appointments.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology efficiently and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize procedure flow.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation when necessary for patients with special needs or medical conditions.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and anatomy knowledge to prevent cross-contamination.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and updating medical records or coding procedures for billing purposes.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and maintaining aseptic technique is essential.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft enhances workflow efficiency; experience with Epic is a plus.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding ensures accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Experience working with pediatric patients or in pediatrics-focused practices is advantageous.
- Understanding infection control standards and anatomy knowledge related to oral health is crucial for safe practice delivery.
- Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is required; additional certifications in medical imaging or pediatric dentistry are beneficial.
