Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental materials.
- Take and develop X-ray images using digital imaging systems such as digital X-ray machines and 3D scanners while maintaining safety standards aligned with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical coding, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy standards using Dentrix Ascend.
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and answering patient inquiries professionally.
- Apply aseptic techniques and maintain strict infection control practices to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a private dental office is required, with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing dental materials is essential.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology is necessary for effective communication and documentation.
- Experience with Dentrix Ascend is preferred.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including I-Tero 3D scanners and X-ray machines confidently.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management and data privacy.
