Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and sterilization standards are met.
  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Take vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to assist with patient assessment.
  • Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to ensure accurate medical documentation.
  • Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and medical records.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and coordinating with the dental receptionist to optimize clinic flow.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dental care and general health assessments.
  • Experience with dental office software including Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records.
  • Ability to perform dental assisting duties confidently across various specialties including endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and general dentistry.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Skilled in taking vital signs accurately and assessing patient comfort levels during procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and coordinate seamlessly with team members. Pay: $25.24 - $30.40 per hour
