Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is ready for patient procedures.
• Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing tools and managing patient comfort.
• Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse; assess patient needs before procedures to ensure safety and preparedness.
• Manage patient records efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; document medical history, treatment notes, and medical coding accurately.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote ongoing dental health.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical documentation with care.
• Support front desk operations by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical records seamlessly.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting procedures.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records effectively.
• Ability to perform patient assessments including vital signs measurement and basic medical documentation.
• Strong understanding of general dentistry practices along with specialized areas like prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and dental office protocols.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy at all times.
• Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients, team members, and healthcare providers.

Pay: $24.38 - $29.36 per hour
