Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including general dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient care. Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection control standards. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems ensuring accuracy and confidentiality per HIPAA regulations. Support patient check-in and check-out processes as a dental receptionist, including verifying insurance information and updating medical documentation. Apply aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures, adhering to infection control protocols. Assist with medical imaging procedures like 3D scanning when applicable, supporting advanced diagnostic processes. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients . Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate effectively with team members and patients. Support four-handed dentistry practices by working efficiently alongside the dentist to improve workflow and patient comfort.

Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred. Familiarity with dental assisting techniques such as chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and maintaining infection control standards is essential. Hands-on experience with EMR systems like is advantageous; Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and medical terminology enhances your ability to support complex procedures effectively. Experience with dental coding and managing dental records ensures accurate documentation for billing and compliance purposes. Demonstrated ability to follow aseptic techniques and infection control protocols consistently across various procedures is crucial. A proactive attitude toward learning new technologies like 3D scanners or advanced imaging tools will help you excel in this role.
