Our small general practice is hiring for an experienced dental assistant.. You will support our dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will help us maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative work, endodontics, oral surgery and periodontics by providing chairside support.Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality.
- Collect vital signs and medical history information
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions about procedures or treatments.
- Maintain infection control protocols by adhering to OSHA guidelines and ensuring all clinical areas meet sanitation standards.
- Operate and maintain Cerec equipment
- Taking and mounting of radiographs
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental office environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Hands-on knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft
- Ability to perform dental radiography including X-ray imaging safely and accurately.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and excellent patient service skills. Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
