Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
  • Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology including 3D scanners while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
  • Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
  • Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout treatment to promote a positive experience.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Support infection control practices by adhering to aseptic techniques and maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is REQUIRED.
  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and taking X-rays is essential.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology enhances your ability to communicate effectively within the team.
  • Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is Preferred; knowledge of Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
  • Understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety at all times.
  • Ability to perform medical imaging procedures accurately while maintaining patient comfort.
