Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary dental tools and materials in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments are readily available.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols.
  • Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
  • Provide chairside assistance by monitoring vital signs, applying aseptic techniques, and supporting patients through procedures to enhance comfort and cooperation.
  • Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control practices and ensuring all equipment is sterilized and functioning properly.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy is highly preferred.
  • Dentrix, Endo Ortho And OS Experience a plus++
  • Experience in dental assisting with skills in chairside assisting, X-ray taking, infection control, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Familiarity with specialized areas like prosthodontics, endodontics, Oral Surgery and general dentistry procedures is advantageous.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively across clinical and administrative responsibilities. Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
