Duties
- Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology explanations
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with dental receptionists and updating medical documentation
- Maintain clinical cleanliness and sterilization standards while adhering to infection control guidelines
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures
- Familiarity with EMR systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
- Proficiency in taking X-rays, including intraoral images and 3D scans, with an understanding of radiation safety protocols
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics
- Experience supporting pediatric dentistry patients is highly desirable
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
