Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, by handing instruments and managing patient comfort.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining proper radiation safety standards.
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
- Provide chairside four-handed dentistry practices to improve efficiency.
- Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical documentation for each patient visit.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures and medical documentation.
- Knowledge of EMR systems including Dentrix, or managing medical records and coding accurately.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge related to dentistry, and dental terminology.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to HIPAA standards for patient privacy.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
