Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing dental reception duties to enhance clinic efficiency.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, including medical imaging tools and dental materials.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding enhances your ability to support clinical documentation effectively.
- Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and infection control practices is essential.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards ensures confidentiality and accuracy in recordkeeping.
- Certification in dental assisting or related fields is desirable; ongoing training in endodontics or prosthodontics is encouraged for professional growth.
