Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a Dental Assistant preferably with experience but not required to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices and procedures, along with excellent communication skills to interact with patients and staff effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
• Ensure a clean and sterile environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
• Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, as required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment schedules using dental software systems such as Dentrix.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Manage inventory of dental supplies and ensure that all necessary materials are available for procedures.
• Provide support in pediatric dentistry and prosthodontics as needed.
• Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure smooth patient flow and communication.

Skills

• Proficiency in using dental software systems, particularly Macpractice.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
• Familiarity with infection control protocols and practices.
• Experience in prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry is a plus.
• Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dental procedures.
• Ability to perform medical imaging accurately.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.50 - $15.50 per hour
