Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety according to HIPAA regulations.
- Manage medical documentation and records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging or other diagnostic procedures as needed.
- Uphold infection control standards through aseptic techniques and knowledge of anatomy to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental assisting or working within a dental clinic environment.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient records.
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus; experience with dental receptionist duties is beneficial.
