Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
• Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety according to HIPAA regulations.
• Manage medical documentation and records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging or other diagnostic procedures as needed.
• Uphold infection control standards through aseptic techniques and knowledge of anatomy to ensure a safe clinical environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dental assisting or working within a dental clinic environment.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient records.
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools.
• Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus; experience with dental receptionist duties is beneficial.
