Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all instruments and materials are sterile and ready for use.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Manage patient records using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Perform basic administrative duties, including medical coding and billing when necessary.
- Maintain compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Support pediatric patients with a friendly demeanor to ensure their comfort during visits.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred; familiarity with dental receptionist duties is a plus.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential.
- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic is highly desirable.
- Understanding of medical coding practices related to dental services is beneficial.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while providing exceptional patient care.
