Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Dental Assistant to join our growing team! No prior dental experience is required—we are happy to train the right person with a great attitude and eagerness to learn. Experience in dentistry is preferred but not mandatory. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or build a career in dental assisting in a specialty practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms and set up instruments/materials for procedures (including root canals, implants, and extractions) following strict infection control and OSHA/CDC guidelines
- Assist the Dentist chairside during procedures by passing instruments, managing suction, and anticipating needs
- Take and process digital dental X-rays (periapical, bitewing, etc.) as directed
- Prepare patients for treatment: greet them, review medical history, explain procedures, and ensure comfort
- Sterilize and organize instruments/equipment; maintain a clean and safe operatories
- Provide post-treatment instructions and patient education
- Handle basic administrative tasks such as updating patient records, scheduling follow-ups, and assisting with office flow
- Support the team in ensuring a smooth, efficient, and caring patient experience
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No experience required – we provide on-the-job training!
- Preferred (but not required): Prior dental assisting experience, X-ray certification (or willingness to obtain), or completion of a dental assisting program
- Strong customer service skills and a calm, compassionate demeanor
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a small team
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
- Willingness to learn specific procedures and instruments
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
