Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our practice. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining infection control standards, and enhancing patient experience through compassionate service.

Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside support and handling dental materials.
• Take dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to safety standards and HIPAA regulations.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment while following aseptic techniques and infection control procedures.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed.
• Utilize 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning in general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics.

Skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
• Experience with dental imaging techniques such as X-ray and 3D scanning technology.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control protocols.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
• Familiarity with medical coding practices related to dental procedures for accurate billing and documentation.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, team members, and other healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated ability to support pediatric dentistry procedures with patience and professionalism.
