Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures
- Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with chairside support
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and X-ray machines, adhering to infection control protocols
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality
- Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment following aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure safety for patients and staff
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for scheduling, documentation, and medical coding
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Experience with medical documentation and records management within a dental setting
- Skilled in taking accurate X-rays and operating medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures while maintaining aseptic technique
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics and their families
- Knowledge of infection control practices and sterilization procedures to uphold the highest safety standards
