Dental Assistant

A Dental Assistant is a healthcare support professional who works alongside dentists to help deliver patient care in a dental clinic or hospital setting. They play a key role in ensuring procedures run smoothly and patients feel comfortable during treatment.

Main responsibilities

• Assisting the dentist during procedures (e.g., fillings, cleanings, extractions)
• Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments and equipment
• Setting up treatment rooms before appointments
• Handing instruments and materials to the dentist during procedures
• Taking and developing dental X-rays (if certified/allowed)
• Recording patient information and updating dental records
• Providing patients with post-treatment care instructions
• Helping manage appointments and clinic workflow
• Maintaining cleanliness and infection control standards
