First Steps Pediatric Dentistry is looking for a dental assistant. The applicant is responsible for providing hands-on support to the dentists as well as completing prep work so they can more efficiently care for patients. Their duties include completing intake paperwork and updating patient records, sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, and assisting during dental procedures.
We have a great work environment and are looking for an experienced dental assistant who enjoys working with children to join team. Our patients come first, and we are looking for someone with the work ethic and personality to help us take care of these wonderful patients!

Pay:
· $16-$20/hr. (depending on experience)
Schedule:
· 8-hour shifts, no weekends, work location-in person (Cheyenne, WY)
Qualifications:
· High school or equivalent
· Completion of a dental assisting program (preferred)
· Current certification in dental radiography (preferred)
· Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments; ability to communicate effectively with patients
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assisting the dentist during dental procedures
· Preparing treatment rooms and instruments
· Taking dental x-rays, sterilizing dental instruments and equipment
· Providing patient education on oral hygiene
· Maintaining accurate patient records using Dentrix Ascend
· Other duties as assigned
Physical and Mental Demands:
· To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, an employee must be able to maintain appropriate composure and necessary confidentiality with regard to both past and current employees, patients, documents, issues, and respect privacy needs of employees and patients.
· There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
· An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to perform essential position. Lifts exceeding 50 pounds require a team lift technique.
