Forest Hills Family Dental is a one-doctor, one location, private dental practice team located in the Forest Hills area. Join our light-hearted, experienced & professional team as a full-time (or part-time) Dental Assistant (ideally four days per week, M-Th). In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of our dental practice. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional dental services, fostering patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and medical documentation. Key Tasks

  • Processing & sterilizing all dental instruments & equipment.
  • Managing medical waste & adhering to strict aseptic procedures.
  • Preparing & maintaining treatment rooms for procedures.
  • Greeting, seating, and providing patient comfort & education.
  • Managing patient records, gathering accurate dental & medical health histories.
  • Digitally recording, charting, & treatment planning dental procedures in an Open Dental program.
  • Assisting the dentist chairside during a variety of dental procedures.
  • Taking digital dental x-rays, intra-oral photos & scans.
  • Educating patients on oral health practices & post-treatment care.
  • Supporting the dental reception & hygiene departments as needed.

Hours

Patient care hours are (M-W) 8AM-5PM (Th) 8AM-4PM.

Arrival time is 7:30AM daily w/ huddle at 7:45AM.

Lunch hour is 12 NOON - 1PM daily.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding of dental terminology related to general dentistry
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Certification in radiography or x-ray technology is desirable; ongoing training in infection control or advanced imaging techniques is encouraged.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) (Preferred)
  • Registered Dental Assistant (Preferred)
