Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic technique and infection control protocols
  • Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, including updating medical documentation and medical coding
  • Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments
  • Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient flow
  • Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging devices to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA regulations

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in dental assisting procedures
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
  • Certification in X-ray safety and proficiency in taking high-quality radiographs
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently
  • Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures
  • Experience supporting pediatric dentistry is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and healthcare providers

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
