Dental Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our growing dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office while providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in various dental systems and technologies. We strongly prefer a candidate with both front and back office experience, who can confidently support clinical care while assisting with administrative tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the dentist during exams and procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
  • Prepare dental instruments, equipment, and materials for treatments.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays.
  • Manage patient records and appointments using Dentrix Ascend.
  • Assist with prosthodontic procedures and operate a 3D scanner for accurate imaging.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and treatment areas between patients.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies to ensure they are well-stocked.
  • Ensure patient comfort by addressing their concerns and making them feel at ease before, during, and after procedures.
  • Handle front desk tasks as needed, including scheduling and managing patient inquiries.
  • Stay current with dental assistant best practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • X-ray certification is required.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a dental assistant.
  • Experience in both clinical (back office) and administrative (front office) duties is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Dentrix Ascend is preferred.
  • Positive attitude and a team player mentality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per year
