Dental Assistant

Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed
  • Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care
  • Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to increase efficiency during procedures
  • Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and medical records management is a plus
  • Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures
  • Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively
  • Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages
  • Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; additional certifications in radiography or pediatric dentistry are advantageous

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
