Dental Assistant

Job Summary

In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the smooth operation of our dental practice. Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols
  • Assist dentists chairside during various procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring patient safety with proper aseptic technique
  • Manage patient records by updating medical history, vital signs, and dental documentation within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Dentrix
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions using clear dental terminology
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and OSHA regulations
  • Support the practice’s commitment to high-quality, low-volume patient care and a positive, comfortable patient experience

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a general or pediatric dentistry setting with familiarity in dental assisting procedures
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care
  • Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding and medical records management is a plus
  • Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics; ability to explain procedures clearly
  • Certification in radiography or X-ray technology required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are advantageous
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient-centered care

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
