Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures
  • Assist dentists chairside during a variety of treatments including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures
  • Take dental X-rays and medical imaging to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Manage patient records using Dentrix while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality
  • Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures
  • Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions with clear communication
  • Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization protocols
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical documentation

Experience

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics preferred
  • Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and patient information
  • Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and taking X-rays
  • Knowledge of EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records efficiently
  • Understanding of infection control protocols, anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe practice
  • Experience with medical imaging devices such as 3D scanners is a plus but not required
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
