Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to infection control and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding to support seamless patient care. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging procedures for patients requiring additional health assessments. Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient inquiries with professionalism.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Familiarity with dental practices and working with adult and kids patients. Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and accurately; experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding processes. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a busy dental clinic environment.
