Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using appropriate techniques.
• Manage patient records through EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Conduct chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency.
• Perform vital signs checks and assist with medical documentation as needed.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Maintain a clean and organized dental clinic environment.
• Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming atmosphere for young patients.

Requirements

• Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR systems; familiarity with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques is essential.
• Experience with medical imaging and understanding of medical coding/documentation is a plus.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices within a dental setting.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while providing exceptional patient care.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with patients of all ages, particularly in pediatrics.
