Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures.
• Assist dentists during a variety of treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like OpenDental, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
• Monitor vital signs and assist in medical assessments when necessary to ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
• Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene practices to promote long-term dental health.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and maintaining organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures and terminology.
• Proficiency with EMR systems including OpenDental: experience with medical coding and documentation is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and dental terminology to ensure safe practice standards.
• Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently.
• Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and experience caring for pediatric patients is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the dental team and provide compassionate patient care.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
