Dental Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth operations within the dental clinic. Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools.
  • Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic.
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices.
  • Manage patient flow efficiently by coordinating appointments and assisting with administrative tasks as a dental receptionist when needed.
  • Support four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency during procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with medical documentation and coding for insurance claims and record keeping.

Skills

  • Proficiency in EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Weave, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
  • Experience with chairside assisting techniques across various specialties such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
  • Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely and accurately interpret imaging results.
  • Familiarity with infection control standards and aseptic techniques within a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of medical imaging technology including 3D scanners.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
