Dental Assistant

Our dental office is looking for a talented individual to join our team. We recently rebuilt our dental office back in Lahaina and are growing our team to help support the new location. Our goal is to help take care of our patients and support our team.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a dental clinic environment and possess a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures. This role involves assisting the dentist during various procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. A commitment to providing exceptional patient care is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and various dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients.
  • Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems such as Curve.
  • Manage patient flow and assist with scheduling appointments, acting as a dental receptionist when necessary.
  • Provide support by ensuring that patients feel comfortable and informed during their visits.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Ensure that the dental clinic is clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred (pay range will reflect experience of candidate).
  • Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Experience with dental software systems, particularly Curve, is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Certification in Dental Assisting or relevant qualifications are advantageous but not required.

We are looking for a full time team member to work Monday to Friday (a 4 day workweek is possible as well). Benefits will be made available to employees who work full time.

We are hoping to bring in a candidate with past dental assisting experience. Additional consideration will be given for a candidate who is able to help work the front desk at the office. An ideal work schedule for us would be a candidate who could work 2 to 3 days a week assisting and 2 days a week in the front office. We are able to provide training on the front desk operations but at this time are just looking for assistants with prior dental assisting experience.

Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
