Responsibilities
- Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and proper sterilization protocols are followed.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes.
- Support patient check-in and check-out processes, providing excellent customer service and scheduling appointments efficiently.
- Perform medical imaging using advanced equipment like 3D scanners when applicable for prosthodontics or implant procedures.
- Maintain infection control standards by following OSHA guidelines and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assist with medical documentation and coding to facilitate insurance claims and billing processes.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a friendly atmosphere for young patients and understanding pediatric-specific dental terminology.
- Monitor vital signs before procedures to ensure patient safety during treatments involving sedation or anesthesia.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding standards.
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and team members including dental receptionists.
Pay: From $650.00 per week
