Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the dental practice, providing exceptional support to both the dental team and patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a high standard of patient care.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared in advance.
- Perform tasks such as taking X-rays, recording vital signs, and updating medical documentation accurately.
- Maintain infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and ensuring cleanliness in the treatment area.
- Manage patient records using dental software systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft, including medical coding for billing purposes.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Support prosthodontics procedures by preparing materials and assisting during the fitting of dentures or other prosthetic devices.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience through effective communication and teamwork.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with dental software systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices and infection control standards is required.
- Ability to assist in various dental procedures, including familiarity with prosthodontics.
- Proficiency in taking X-rays and recording vital signs accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate medical coding and patient records management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
