Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures
- Assist dentists during various treatments including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and digital radiography systems
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout appointments to ensure safety and well-being
- Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, answering queries, and guiding patients through their visit process
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic or general dentistry environment is a plus
- Proficiency with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, medical documentation, and understanding dental terminology
- Familiarity with EMR systems is a plus for managing medical records efficiently
- Knowledge of infection control practices, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques is required to ensure safe patient care
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards for radiation exposure
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as medical coding, record keeping, and appointment scheduling simultaneously
- Certification in dental assisting required
