Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments, materials, and equipment in accordance with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and surgical dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental instruments
- Take high-quality X-ray images using digital radiography equipment while maintaining proper safety standards for patients and staff
- Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times
- Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments
- Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient flow efficiently
- Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA regulations
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry dentistry environments
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or similar platforms is a plus
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices
- Hands-on experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry practices
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively while following HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy
- Strong understanding of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques within a healthcare setting
- Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for working with children is essential
