Duties
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments with precision and care
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; document treatment details accurately and efficiently
- Support patients by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and ensuring their comfort throughout visits
- Maintain a sterile environment through aseptic techniques and proper infection control practices
- Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and reduce patient wait times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix, soft dent. Epic for managing medical records and documentation
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of infection control and aseptic technique
- Certification in X-ray technology and proficiency in taking radiographs for diagnostic purposes
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
- Experience working with pediatric dentistry patients is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to support the dental receptionist duties when needed and foster positive patient interactions
