Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and clinical procedures. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix or Epic to ensure accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment notes, and medical coding.
- Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices tailored to pediatric patients when necessary.
- Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient well-being throughout procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
- Support administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment including 3D scanners and other advanced tools to ensure readiness for all procedures.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the clinic environment.
- Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency and reduce procedure times.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate medical documentation and records management.
- Familiarity with infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety guidelines; certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dental specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics is advantageous for supporting diverse treatment needs.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including children; compassionate approach required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail across multiple responsibilities such as medical imaging, assisting chairside, and managing records.

Pay: $25.45 - $30.65 per hour
