Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is in proper working order in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments and managing patient comfort.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) Dentrix, or Epic to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical documentation.
- Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient health status before procedures to ensure safety.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control standards to uphold a safe clinical environment.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care using clear dental terminology tailored for pediatric patients when necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Hands-on experience with dental assisting including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing medical records.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical setting.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children is highly desirable.
- Understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance to ensure accurate documentation and confidentiality.

Pay: $23.00 - $31.00 per hour
