Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience. Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques also by keeping office clean.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety regulations.
- Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling appointments and documenting patient information.
- Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist with ordering when necessary.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal scheduling.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices is essential.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; knowledge of Epic is advantageous.
- Ability to perform medical imaging and understand medical coding is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
