Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments, dental materials, and supplies, adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including root canals and root surgeries.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray sensors and 3D scanners, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like PBS Endo and Dexis while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and functioning as a dental receptionist when needed.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and dental terminology to enhance their understanding of procedures.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures is preferred but not required as we do offer on the job training.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and infection control practices is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry is preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools safely is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
