Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, etc.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
• Take dental X-rays, FMX, panoramic and intraoral photos while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
• Manage patient records using systems like Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical coding for billing purposes.

Skills

• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
• Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools.
• Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines ensuring patient privacy and data security at all times.
• Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology relevant to various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
• Strong organizational skills for managing appointments, medical records, and insurance documentation.
