Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a focus on delivering exceptional service. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your expertise will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere where patients feel comfortable and cared for.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures in general dentistry
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Take dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record systems such with Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide chairside assistance through four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Conduct vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote informed decision-making.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
  • Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow efficiently.
  • Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment for precise diagnostics.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant within a general or specialized dental practice a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Proficiency in Dentrix managing dental records and documentation.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security.
  • Familiarity with dental imaging techniques including X-ray procedures.
  • Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting with expertise in four-handed dentistry and medical imaging procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and collaboration with the dental team.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
