Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant. In this vital role, you will support dentists during a variety of procedures, manage patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of our dental practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during clinical procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and equipment with precision and efficiency.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient experience.
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients requiring special care or pediatric dentistry services.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote understanding and compliance.
- Maintain a sterile environment through aseptic techniques, infection control procedures, and proper handling of medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation software is a plus.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and dental assisting best practices.
- Experience with chairside assisting in various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry is preferred.
