Duties

• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
• Monitor vital signs and medical history to support safe treatment planning for patients with diverse needs.
• Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by following infection control standards and ensuring all tools meet sterilization requirements.

Experience

• Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting with proficiency in dental assisting techniques.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with team members and patients.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and medical imaging technology.
• Understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to uphold safety standards.
• Experience supporting pediatric dentistry is highly desirable; comfort working with children is essential.
• Certification in dental assisting or related fields is preferred; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance and medical coding is advantageous. Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
