Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, patient care, and clinic operations. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality dental care, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining efficient workflow within the practice. Your role will be vital in creating a welcoming environment while adhering to strict health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed.
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting with general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry cases.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while maintaining accurate medical documentation.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as r Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical history updates to ensure patient safety during procedures.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and coordinating with the dental reception team.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately and efficiently; experience with medical imaging is preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous.
- Familiarity with dental assisting certifications or licenses required by local regulations.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and healthcare providers.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
