Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our pediatric dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our dental professionals. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix for record management.
Skills
- Proficient in medical coding and understanding of dental terminology.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental practices.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques.
- Familiarity with four-handed dentistry practices.
- Strong understanding of infection control standards.
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude.
